Bluebell Childcare

Bluebell Childcare was founded in 2003 and is a family run business securely embedded within the local community.

In the beginning there was Bluebell Playgroup which ran in a small classroom in Southcott Lower School. We quickly set up Bluebell After School Club after the existing provider left.

The playgroup could only take 16 children per session and even with 10 sessions we could not accommodate all of the children that needed places. The After School Club was incredibly popular and quickly expanded into the adjoining classroom.

We had outgrown our current location and were granted funding to build a new home for our setting, within the grounds of Southcott Lower School. Building began in 2007 and completed just in time for the Summer Term of 2008.

2007 was a very busy year and saw the introduction of Leighton Middle After School Club, Little Bluebells Playgroup and Little Bluebells After School Club soon followed. In September 2016 we introduced Little Bluebells Breakfast Club.

Linslade Middle After School Club was set up next then followed by Gilbert Inglefield Middle School and Brooklands After School Clubs.

In 2016 we were delighted to be asked by St Michael’s C of E Combined School in Stewkley to run an After School Club at their school.

Our aim with all settings is to provide excellent, flexible and affordable childcare that meets the needs of the family as a whole. We cater to the individual childrens needs and incorporate their ideas, requirements and likes into our sessions.

Bluebell Childcare welcomes visitors and supports students who are training towards various childcare qualifications. Many students go on to join the Bluebell Childcare workforce.
